Carl is an artist who started drawing when he was 3 years old, held his first paint brush at the age of 9 and became adept with painting at the age of 16. He has successfully finished his bachelor of Fine Arts at Fanshawe College and won 3rd place in the Bijan Award contest during his 3rd and final year is Fanshawe’s Fine Arts program. He also has one year experience in the Beal full day art program. He has experience working with children at the London Museum's Summer Art Camp and 3 years of customer service at International Bakery where he learned how to ensure the satisfaction of everyone. Carl's main skills in art include watercolour, acrylic, ink, graphite and pen and is capable of ink wash, watercolour and comic book art style of drawing. Carl is heavily inspired by the works of artists such as Takehiko Inoue, Agnes Cecile and Vincent Castiglia. He is a great teacher and entertainer that can make you laugh and learn at the same time.
Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
Yes. Prism Petals is designed to be achievable at any experience level. More satisfying than it looks difficult — Carl breaks every step down clearly. Most of our guests have never picked up a brush before, and they leave with something they're genuinely proud of. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Carl is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at Mingle by Mr and Mrs Bao, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
Yes — Prism Petals is a Paint Nite favourite for girls nights in London. Everyone paints their own canvas, so there's always something to laugh about at the end. If you're planning a bachelorette party or a larger group, private events of 10+ get reserved seating and a custom experience.
Carl is a real local artist based in London — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. 7 out of 8 guests who've painted with Carl say the instruction was amazing. Daniel B. said: 'This was the first paint night we attended. The instructor was very helpful easy to follow along with.'
Mingle by Mr and Mrs Bao is a local venue in London — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.
Yes — we have 11 upcoming events in London this month. You can view them here.
Prism Petals is a spring painting — a fresh seasonal pick that captures the energy of the season.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in London, you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to Prism Petals includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Carl . Drinks and food are ordered separately from Mingle by Mr and Mrs Bao — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
This event runs approximately 2 hours. Doors open at 2:00 PM — we recommend arriving 15 minutes early to get settled and order your first drink before Carl starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
This event has reached our minimum attendance threshold and is guaranteed to run. If we ever have to cancel a guaranteed event, every ticket holder receives a full automatic refund plus a free ticket to a future Paint Nite — no questions asked. The only exception is weather or force majeure, where full refunds are issued but free tickets are not.
