Emerald greens and deep night blues — this painting has a pull to it, the kind that makes you want to sit with it for a while. I'm Joyce, and I've been hosting nights like this one long enough to know that the people who say they "can't paint" are usually the ones most surprised by what they walk out with. We're painting Emerald Night Skies together, and gold paint is included — so yes, it's going to glow. The Royal Oak in Orleans has that easy, welcoming pub energy that makes the whole thing feel low-stakes and fun. Bring a friend, grab a drink, and let the night sky do the rest.
Graced with abundant natural lighting and a spacious patio, the Orleans Oak is located along a thriving commercial section of St. Joseph Boulevard at the corner of Jeanne D’Arc. It’s just the spot just for lunchtime meetings or unscheduled drop-ins. Though all Royal Oak Pubs have that local British pub feel, each is unique and tailored to the community they serve. From Stittsville, to Barrhaven, all the way to Orleans, you are guaranteed to find a pub to call your own. However, wherever you choose to amble in, the food and beer remain consistently top-notch.

Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
Yes. Emerald Night Skies - Gold Paint Included is designed to be achievable at any experience level. More satisfying than it looks difficult — Joyce (Of Art!!) breaks every step down clearly. Most of our guests have never picked up a brush before, and they leave with something they're genuinely proud of. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Joyce (Of Art!!) is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at Royal Oak - Orleans, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
Joyce (Of Art!!) is a real local artist based in Ottawa — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. 75 out of 88 guests who've painted with Joyce (Of Art!!) say the instruction was amazing. GAIL C. said: 'Joyce's events are always lively and fun. I always learn something new from her teaching.'
Royal Oak - Orleans is a local venue in Ottawa — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.
Yes — we have 237 upcoming events in Ottawa this month. You can view them here.
Emerald Night Skies - Gold Paint Included is a fall painting — rich autumn colors that capture the season beautifully.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in Ottawa, you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to Emerald Night Skies - Gold Paint Included includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Joyce (Of Art!!). Drinks and food are ordered separately from Royal Oak - Orleans — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
Royal Oak - Orleans's doors open at 11:00 AM, the event starts at 7:00 PM. We suggest showing up by 6:30 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Joyce (Of Art!!) starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
