Step into the world of bold shapes, playful perspectives, and artistic experimentation in this fun and creative Paint Nite experience! Inspired by the iconic Cubist style, participants will transform an everyday still life into a vibrant, modern masterpiece by breaking objects into geometric forms and reimagining them from multiple angles. In this guided workshop, guests will explore the fundamentals of Cubist-inspired painting while creating a unique still life composition featuring objects such as fruit, flowers, bottles, vases, or decorative items. Rather than painting realistically, we’ll focus on shape, color, movement, and creative interpretation. During the class, participants will learn how to: Simplify everyday objects into bold geometric shapes Create depth and movement using overlapping forms and multiple viewpoints Experiment with color combinations ranging from earthy tones to bright, expressive palettes Add interest through line work, contrast, and layered composition Develop a modern, abstract feel while still capturing recognizable objects No painting experience is needed — this class is approachable, creative, and full of artistic freedom. Whether you love modern art or simply want to try something different, you’ll leave with a striking Cubist-inspired painting that feels uniquely your own. PLEASE NOTE: This session is designed for beginner to intermediate painters, and the pace will be relaxed and easy to follow. We’ll be working on 12" x 16" canvas panels rather than stretched canvases. Canvas panels offer a smoother painting surface and make brush control easier, especially for newer artists. Participants with more painting experience are welcome to request a larger 16" x 20" canvas at no additional charge - it’s included with your ticket. Food and beverages will be available for purchase separately.

Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
Yes. Cubist Still LIfe is designed to be achievable at any experience level. More satisfying than it looks difficult — ArtLab breaks every step down clearly. Most of our guests have never picked up a brush before, and they leave with something they're genuinely proud of. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. ArtLab is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at ArtLabMTL Studio & Café, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
ArtLab is a real local artist based in Pierrefonds - Roxboro — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. Paint Nite artists complete our certification program before their first event. Across all Paint Nite events, 93% of guests say their instructor was amazing. Heather B. said: 'The teacher was amazing. Great atmosphere. Beautiful project. I learned some new techniques!'
ArtLabMTL Studio & Café is a local venue in Pierrefonds - Roxboro — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.
Yes — we have 6 upcoming events in Pierrefonds - Roxboro this month. You can view them here.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in Pierrefonds - Roxboro, you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to Cubist Still LIfe includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from ArtLab. Drinks and food are ordered separately from ArtLabMTL Studio & Café — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
This event runs approximately 2 hours. Doors open at 2:00 PM — we recommend arriving 15 minutes early to get settled and order your first drink before ArtLab starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
