Get DirectionsOriginally from a small town in west-central Manitoba, I grew up in my family’s funeral home business. I can distinctly recall coming home from nursery school and excitedly telling my mother that I wanted to be an artist when I grew up; her immediate response was, “You’ll never make a living doing that!” After completing the Visual Communications course offered through my vocational high school, I went on to become the fourth generation of my family to work in the funeral industry, where I found my niche in creating custom memorial designs in our monument sales office. I moved to Moose Jaw in 2008, and explored several diverse careers where I was able to use my education in developing graphics, campaigns, promotional, and fundraising materials for local organizations. This past fall, I accepted a position at the Western Development Museum – Moose Jaw as Education/Public Programs Coordinator. When I’m not in the office, I enjoy traveling, camping and exploring the back roads with my partner, son, and daughter. Art and photography are two of my passions, and you’ll often find us at local craft fairs and the farmer’s market with a table full of our creations. I prefer to work in acrylics and have adapted a sort of pointillism/impressionistic approach to many of my paintings, and find myself drawn to scenes of nature. I am a people-person at heart, and look forward to meeting and mingling with a variety of guests through upcoming Paint Nite events!
Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
"Day Of The Dead" Dog/Cat Partner Painting is one of our more detailed paintings, which is exactly what makes it so satisfying to finish. Donna paces it carefully so nobody gets left behind — and Donna will help you turn any mistake into something intentional. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Donna is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at Harwoods at Temple Gardens, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
Yes — "Day Of The Dead" Dog/Cat Partner Painting is a Paint Nite favourite for girls nights in Moose Jaw. Everyone paints their own canvas, so there's always something to laugh about at the end. If you're planning a bachelorette party or a larger group, private events of 10+ get reserved seating and a custom experience.
Donna is a real local artist based in Moose Jaw — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. Paint Nite artists complete our certification program before their first event. Across all Paint Nite events, 93% of guests say their instructor was amazing.
Harwoods at Temple Gardens is a local venue in Moose Jaw — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.
"Day Of The Dead" Dog/Cat Partner Painting is a fall painting — rich autumn colors that capture the season beautifully.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in Moose Jaw, you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to "Day Of The Dead" Dog/Cat Partner Painting includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Donna. Drinks and food are ordered separately from Harwoods at Temple Gardens — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
Harwoods at Temple Gardens's event starts at 7:00 PM. We suggest showing up by 6:30 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Donna starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
