No experience needed—just follow along step-by-step and leave with your own rendition. Whether you’re planning a girls’ night, date night, or just want to try something new, PaintNite at Finn’s is the perfect mix of creativity and casual fun.
TIMELINE – Events start on time and typically last 2 - 3 hours, depending on the complexity of the painting.
SEATING – First come, first served policy for seating. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early to order drinks and get a good seat.
ACCESSIBILITY – Wheelchair accessible. Please contact Melanie ahead (if you are bringing a helper and require two seats) so she can accommodate you with the best space.
FREE PARKING – Check in at Parktown Hotel front desk to validate parking.
KIDS – Legal drinking age only. For a younger audience, look at some of our events at other venues.
FOOD – Order finger foods and drinks while you paint or come early and get a great pub meal!

Phaedra has always been passionate about art, from childhood crayon drawings to university art classes, and is excited about sharing that enthusiasm with others. She brings a lifelong love of nature, creatures, whimsy, and bright colours to her work. She has a background in interactive systems design and has completed research on how engaging in shared creativity brings people together. In addition to visual art, she enjoys creative writing, dog agility, gardening, and reading fantasy novels.

Yes. Coming Soon... is designed to be achievable at any experience level. More satisfying than it looks difficult — Phaedra breaks every step down clearly. Most of our guests have never picked up a brush before, and they leave with something they're genuinely proud of. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Phaedra is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at Finn's Irish Pub (Parktown Hotel), a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. Your ticket to Coming Soon... includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Phaedra. Drinks and food are ordered separately from Finn's Irish Pub (Parktown Hotel) — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
Finn's Irish Pub (Parktown Hotel)'s doors open at 11:00 AM, the event starts at 6:30 PM. We suggest showing up by 6:00 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Phaedra starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
