Join me for this brand new 2.5-hr workshop, where you will be painting alongside me as I turn this spectacular summer prairies photograph into an acrylic painting. As you follow along, step-by-step, I will be talking about the basics of working with photographs, taking pictures for painting and many other things that will come in handy on your own painting journey. When? July 12, 2024 9 am - 11:30 am PST 10 am - 12:30 pm MST 11 am - 1:30 pm CST noon- 2:30 pm EST The workshop will be conducted over Google Meet, recorded and available for replay until the end of the year. Virtual Venue - AB, Canada

I have received my art education from University of Calgary, ACAD, Emily Carr Institute and now I am very excited to share my knowledge and passion for art as your instructor! I strongly believe that everyone can make beautiful art. It always lights my heart to see all the beauty that is produced by people who are convinced that they don't know how to paint.
Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
Yes. Alberta Summer is designed to be achievable at any experience level. More satisfying than it looks difficult — Yulia Art Studio breaks every step down clearly. Most of our guests have never picked up a brush before, and they leave with something they're genuinely proud of. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Yulia Art Studio is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at Virtual Venue - Alberta, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
Yulia Art Studio is a real local artist based in Calgary — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. In Calgary, 24 out of 36 Paint Nite guests rated their instructor as amazing. Jennifer P. said: 'Was a great time and so much fun. So easy to follow and you can do whatever you want within reason'
Virtual Venue - Alberta is a local venue in Calgary — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.
Yes — we have 82 upcoming events in Calgary this month. You can view them here.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in Calgary, you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to Alberta Summer includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Yulia Art Studio. Drinks and food are ordered separately from Virtual Venue - Alberta — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
This event runs approximately 2 hours. Doors open at 2:00 PM — we recommend arriving 15 minutes early to get settled and order your first drink before Yulia Art Studio starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
