Let's paint this gorgeous Red Winged Blackbird with WATERCOLORS in this fun, step-by-step, easy, beginner-friendly class! It's PaintNite with a twist - we use WATERCOLOR. I RECORD ALL MY CLASSES and send the link to watch the next day. Even if you can't attend the class live you can still purchase the ticket and have the recording. DO NOT BUY TICKET WITH THE OPTION FOR SUPPLIES - The kit is for acrylics and won't work for this WATERCOLOR class Watercolor Paper (ESSENTIAL - Canvas will NOT work). My preferred is Arches Cold Pressed 140lbs 9x12 if you want the best results, but any other watercolor paper will do like Canson XL 9x12 Watercolor paints. My basic palette colors: Alizarin Crimson, Scarlet Red, Ultramarine Blue, Thalo Blue, Lemon Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Sap Green (or Hooker's Green), Thalo Green (or Viridian), Payne's Gray (or Black), and White. You can use tubes or cakes. I like this set with 20 colors by Winsor & Newton Cotman . These are superior quality watercolors that are heavily pigmented and beautifully bright, excellent if you want to dramatically improve your watercolor paintings Round paintbrushes - small, medium, and large (sizes 1, 4, 6). I also like to use mini brushes. This Transon Small Detail Brush set comes in sizes 4, 3, 2, 1, 0, 00, 000 A board to tape the watercolor paper to + Masking Tape Pencil and eraser 2 cups with water to rinse brushes Large Ceramic or Plastic plate to mix colors Rags or Paper Towels Blow dryer to speed up drying time between layers

Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
WATERCOLOR Red Winged Blackbird is one of our more detailed paintings, which is exactly what makes it so satisfying to finish. Jade paces it carefully so nobody gets left behind — and Jade will help you turn any mistake into something intentional. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Jade is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at Virtual Venue, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
Jade is a real local artist based in Virtual — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. In Virtual, 5 out of 14 Paint Nite guests rated their instructor as amazing. Deborah T. said: 'Jade is an excellent instructor! She has great tips on watercolor painting.'
Virtual Venue is a local venue in Virtual — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.
Yes — we have 95 upcoming events in Virtual this month. You can view them here.
WATERCOLOR Red Winged Blackbird is a spring painting — a fresh seasonal pick that captures the energy of the season.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in Virtual, you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to WATERCOLOR Red Winged Blackbird includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Jade. Drinks and food are ordered separately from Virtual Venue — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
This event runs approximately 2 hours. Doors open at 2:00 PM — we recommend arriving 15 minutes early to get settled and order your first drink before Jade starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
