Denise Balish

I created my Fun With Yarn classes over 6 years ago working with K-8 th graders in a NJ after-school enrichment program. I also teach beginners knitting. I am a full-time professional Sports Camera Operator. I have been able to share my love for teaching yarn crafts on my off hours. My love for all yarn crafts started young when my grandmother taught me at the early age of 5. Teaching knitting and creating with yarn has been very fulfilling, In my classes, we will use many items that can be found in our house and backyards already available. Teaching finger-knitting to special needs students has been proven to help relief stress for many of my students as well as giving them a feeling of accomplishment, by making their own crafts from scratch. We will also discuss the class topics and let them engage in conversation, as well as reading a theme story.
