Emily Alderman

Hello everyone, my name is Emily, and I aim to be your Yaymaker! I offer lessons in Fine Arts, starting from the basics, and working up to harder lessons at your pace. There will be no special tools required or prior experience needed. By the end of our time together, you'll find a brand new confidence in your abilities as an artist! As mentioned before, I don't require any special tools in order to take lessons with me. If all you have is lined paper at home and a number two pencil, that's a great start already! Any supplies you already own are welcome, and I recognize that not everyone may have easy access to acquiring new materials during these uncertain times. Therefore, no matter what tools you bring to our meetings, I will do my best to work with you. This way, you can become accustomed to the tools that suit you best. Everyone has most likely had varying lessons in art from various teachers or videos in their life, and in my lessons, I aim to teach you the means to better those skills. The way I lead my lessons does not revolve around the usual "forget everything you've ever learned" mentality, rather, I like to work with my students and improve on the skills they've already learned. After a quick introduction (or reintroduction) to some beginning techniques; I can better explain the differences in materials, and so much more. I'll give weekly assignments, and will set goals with you to help maximize your potential. I can't wait to meet with you!
