Johanna Newton

My name is Jo Newton! I am currently a junior at Calvin University, where I am studying religion, philosophy, and theatre. One of the things that I am most passionate about is cooking and baking, and these are the skills I am hoping to share here on yaymaker. I cook and bake from scratch, inventing recipes as I feel inspired to. My style of hosting is informal and invitational. It is my goal to create a relaxed, friendly environment where we can explore the joys of cooking and baking together. I want to demonstrate that creativity in the kitchen is easily accessible to everyone and that there is nothing to be afraid of when it comes to getting creative with the food you make and consume. By teaching basic recipes and demonstrating more technically-challenging ones, I hope to meet viewers where they are and show them their potential.
