Judy Lin

As an artist, I am inspired by people and their stories: memories with loved ones, an observed interaction between strangers, or a wholly imagined relationship. Every piece starts with a story in my mind, and the shapes and colors follow. When I paint a portrait, I want to capture the subject’s voice, character, and experiences. I always hope that the story behind the painting reveals itself, but it is just as nice when people make up their own versions.

Paint Nite is a total blast for me -- it is so much fun to share what I love to do with other people, especially all the newbies! I love it when people get creative and put their own spins on the painting. The results are usually pretty awesome, and it's great to see folks uncover their hidden talent. Add in wine, food and laughter, and what better way to spend a fun and relaxing evening!
