Hi, my name is Lauren Shewhart! I graduated in 2014 from the University of Dayton with my Bachelors of Science in Biology. I am currently a Master’s student at Wright State University getting my degree in Biological Sciences. You may be wondering how someone with a background in ecology can be an art teacher! Well, as far back as I can remember I have loved art. Instead of playing sports, I asked my parents to send me to art classes. In high school, I took as many art classes as I could. One Christmas, about a year ago, my parents bought me some oil paints, brushes, canvases, and Bob Ross videos. Ever since my first oil paint, I have been hooked! Bob Ross has been a great inspiration to me. He has really sparked my passion for painting and teaching others to paint. Art and painting have allowed me to combine two of my passions in life, nature and art. I hope to inspire many of you to find your inner Bob Ross!
