We are the oldest lager-house in SoCal! Formerly known as Last Name Brewing was founded by Curt Dale in 2003 as Dale Bros. Brewery, a small brewery born out of a passion for home brewing and a talent for winning medals at the LA County Fair. Joined in 2007 by his brother Andy Dale and sister-in-law Karen McMillen, the brewery began expanding as it won awards and gained fans, including Paint & Sip fans. In 2012, the brewery moved into its current facility and added a large taproom, beer garden, fermentation lab, and a variety of new and experimental beers to the lineup. In 2016, the brothers discovered they could not trademark the name Dale Bros Brewery, and so renamed it Last Name Brewing as a nod to its roots. We host a wide variety of events from Trivia, live bands, yoga, and our popular biweekly PaintNites with Christina's Calm Creations. Paint and Sip your way to the best night out enjoying fresh brews, local food vendors and desserts, and great tunes to dance and celebrate!

Christina – Owner & Artist - Art, Wellness, and Joy in Every Brushstroke Based in Southern California, I host events designed for all skill levels. Whether it's your first time painting or you're searching for something unique and different that goes beyond canvas painting. I offer a variety of creative options beyond traditional canvas painting such as wine glasses, wood signs, cutting boards, and tote bags. I also love blending art wellness where creativity is a relaxing experience.
Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
Yes. Prickly Gnome is designed to be achievable at any experience level. More satisfying than it looks difficult — Christina breaks every step down clearly. Most of our guests have never picked up a brush before, and they leave with something they're genuinely proud of. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Christina is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at Mt. Baldy Brewing, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
Christina is a real local artist based in Upland — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. Paint Nite artists complete our certification program before their first event. Across all Paint Nite events, 93% of guests say their instructor was amazing. Doraluz A. said: 'Lots of fun. Paint instructor interacts well with everyone'
Mt. Baldy Brewing is a local venue in Upland — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.
Yes — we have 14 upcoming events in Upland this month. You can view them here.
Prickly Gnome is a summer painting — bright, warm tones that match the season perfectly.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in Upland, you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to Prickly Gnome includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Christina. Drinks and food are ordered separately from Mt. Baldy Brewing — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
This event runs approximately 2 hours. Doors open at 2:30 PM — we recommend arriving 15 minutes early to get settled and order your first drink before Christina starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
