Are you ready for a pet portrait with some serious paw power? A portion of each ticket sold will be donated directly to the Dover Humane Society! So come show some love to your animal companion, and share it with all of the fur babies who are looking for new homes! It's a win-win for animal lovers all around. This is a non-alcoholic, bring your own drinks and snacks event. First, Grab your tickets before the cutoff date! Follow the photo submission instructions, and then come meet us in Dover on the day of the event to paint your pet! (P.S. You can paint any pet you have, it doesn't have to be a dog or cat!) We'll have a pre-sketched canvas waiting for you, and a mix of general and one-on-one instruction to help you bring your fur-baby to life on the canvas! Be sure to choose a photo that features your pet filling most of the frame. (We won't be painting complex backgrounds for this event!) Please submit a photo with only one pet. Tip: If you are painting a pet with mostly black OR white fur, consider using a photo with an interesting light source. It is easier to paint their fur if you can see some color reflected on it. (And prettier, too!) Simple objects, like doggy santa hats and tennis balls can be a great feature to have in your photo! They also take some of the pressure off of the portrait itself. You are welcome to use realistic colors, or take a more creative approach to Paint Your Pet! *Only one pet per canvas/ticket.
Bring your favorite drinks and snacks! We are not hosting BYOB events, but feel free to bring in any other non-alcoholic goodies you'd like to munch on or sip while you paint! A portion of ticket sales will be donated to the Humane Society to help support our operations. Thank you for supporting our local animals while they find their forever homes! A community-funded, nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, Pope Memorial Humane Society (PMHS) is dedicated to promoting the humane treatment of animals in Strafford County, NH and Southern Maine. We are a safe, temporary home for more than 1,000 surrendered, lost, abused, neglected, or unwanted animals each year.

Heyo! I'm Mac, I've been hosting creative events with Paint Nite since I turned 21. My mother is in fact a hamster, my father only smelt faintly of elderberries. I've owned a unicycle for years, but I still can't ride it. If the word 'dopamine' is high on your vocabulary list... you found us. Welcome home. I'll help keep you on track throughout the event, repeat for those ooh, shiny moments, and if needed... even explain to the young'ns that the whole hamster thing was a Monty Python reference.
Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
Yes. Paint Your Pet Event is designed to be achievable at any experience level. More satisfying than it looks difficult — Mac breaks every step down clearly. Most of our guests have never picked up a brush before, and they leave with something they're genuinely proud of. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Mac is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at Pope Memorial Humane Society - Cocheco Valley, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
Mac is a real local artist based in Dover — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. Paint Nite artists complete our certification program before their first event. Across all Paint Nite events, 93% of guests say their instructor was amazing. Wendy F. said: 'I really enjoyed the event. It was the first time I had attended a Paint Nite event. I am looking forward to doing another one in the future.'
Pope Memorial Humane Society - Cocheco Valley is a local venue in Dover — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in Dover, you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to Paint Your Pet Event includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Mac. Drinks and food are ordered separately from Pope Memorial Humane Society - Cocheco Valley — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
Pope Memorial Humane Society - Cocheco Valley's doors open at 12:00 PM, the event starts at 4:00 PM. We suggest showing up by 3:30 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Mac starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
