We were so happy we tried this place. Friendly staff, amazing drinks and tasty food. I tried the seltzer flight, my husband had a good hazy IPA. My favorite was a lemon/lavender cocktail. We will definitely return when traveling through the area!

Had the pleasure of attending the soft opening last Sunday. Food was excellent. Philly cheese steak was delicious. Meaty and filled the roll. Wings were huge. Pretzel is definitely a sharing size. Loved the fact you have options for different sides without additional cost. Potato skins hit their mark as well. Ruben was yummy. Staff was friendly and accommodating even with the newness of it being a soft opening. This may just become our go to when in Salem. #HeavyGapproved

After a long day of driving, we stopped at Hanging Rock Tavern for dinner. What an enjoyable experience! We were welcomed with a beautiful smile and offered inside or outside dining. We chose to eat outside. The weather was perfect. Jaycee our waitress welcomed us with a great big smile. After discussing beer options we chose Black light & Devil’s Backbone. Excellent craft beers brewed on the farm! We ate loaded nachos as we drank our beers and boy were the nachos loaded! We chose for our meals the Hanging Rock burger & Billy’s cheesesteak. The portions were huge and the taste was fabulous. Both juicy, flavorful, & filling! Chad came out and checked on us and we raved about the beer and food. We enjoyed eating at the Hanging Rick Tavern and we will be back! If you are in Salem, VA, you must stop and try their crafts beers & food selections. You will not be disappointed!
