Overall, we had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and provided a relaxing environment for our visit. The restaurant was also a highlight, offering tasty food at reasonable prices, with a good selection of options. The spa services were excellent, and the staff provided a great experience that added to the enjoyment of our stay. However, the hotel could improve its pool maintenance. The edges of the swimming pool were visibly dirty, and there were hundreds of dragonflies floating in the water, which made the pool less inviting and enjoyable. It appeared that more attention from the pool maintenance staff is needed to keep the area clean and presentable. Another disappointment was the sauna, which we were informed has not been operational for years. Given that wellness amenities are an important part of the guest experience, it would be helpful if the hotel either repaired the sauna or clearly communicated its status to guests. Despite these issues, we still enjoyed our stay thanks to the comfortable accommodations, good restaurant, and excellent spa services. With better pool upkeep and functioning sauna facilities, this hotel could provide an even better guest experience.
My husband and I travelled here for our honeymoon and stayed for 5 nights. When I say this place is absolutely magical I mean it. We are from Winnipeg, so it took a moment for us to get used to the more remote style in regards to stores and things to do, but it reminded us to slow down and really enjoy what was around us. Just a few minute walk is Gull Harbour, where we got to enjoy a magnificent view and try some amazing food from the local restaurant. During the rest of our stay, we tried the golf course, went swimming and enjoyed an extremely relaxing morning in the spa! We found ourselves enjoying a few evenings in the hotel restaurant, where we received amazing service from all of the staff working! The whole time during our trip I recall mentioning several times how pleasant the people are here, but if I got to be in this environment consistently, I would be too! I would totally recommend this place to anyone wanting to take time out in nature!
It was a great stay with the kids! It is a beautiful location! The sledding hill was fun and there are sleds, cross-country skis & snow shoes available to use included with the room!! You can also reserve at the front desk a fire pit spot, which is included with your room as well! The spa pools for adults were great!! However, the water slide was unfortunately closed due to maintenance during our stay. The front desk did give us a discount for both nights of our stay due to the water slide being closed. There is a lazy river that the kids enjoyed on the kids side of the pool! There is also a board games shelf & communal room in the main lobby, which the kids loved! The restaurant at the hotel is pretty good, but the gull harbour restaurant near by is even better!! We ate at the hotel restaurant for dinner our first night & there were lots of variety of dishes to choose from. My sister's quinoa salad bowl was our favourite. The second night we ate dinner at the gull harbour restaurant near by the hotel & it was absolutely incredible! The only concern we had during our stay is that we could never get through to the front desk from calling from our hotel room & even calling in advance to see how early we could check in, so that would be really be our only complaint. If they can fix this issue, then our stay would have been awesome all across the board!!
