Fish Tacos - 3/10, fish was cooked well but the portion was super small and the tortilla was horrible it wripped apart immediately upon picking it up. Asada Tacos - 2/10, meat was super dry and the tortilla was horrible it wripped apart immediately upon picking it up. Carnitas Tacos- 6/10, super heavy on the cinnamon but cooked well and moist. The tortilla was horrible it wripped apart immediately upon picking it up. Nachos with Carnitas - 4/10, super salty but the meat was good along woth the cheese sauce. The guacamole was okay amd the salsa was pretty good. Good selection of beers and cocktails. Our waitress was okay it was hard getting her attention which was odd becuase we were the only ones there but she was nice and it was good service. Overall it was expensive for what we got taste wise. I dont think well be back besides for drinks.
(02/14/24) Not a huge Valentine's Day crowd but we did wait a while because there was no host when we arrived. When we were seated the host was very accommodating in finding us a table closer to the beautiful fireplace. The server was very nice and personable. We ordered some drinks which were the highlight of the evening, perfectly crafted and tasting. The food was unfortunately a little sub par. Tacos were good in presentation but the tortillas they were in soon became chewy and did not taste super fresh. The salsa for the tacos was very good. The chips and salsa suffered the same fate. They tasted okay, a bit greasy. The salsa was decent. The Mesa Burger I ordered was certainly not well made at all. I asked for it to be cooked medium and what I received was a burnt very well done burger. It was not too appetizing and the fries were a bit soggy and underneath the pile was just tiny bits (like the bottom of the bag). We did appreciate the ambience and server. We also did appreciate the beverages but the food was a little lacking. The beverages and service made this rating a 3 star otherwise it unfortunately would have been like a 2.5 star rating.
The service was excellent and they are very friendly. The food was really good I had fish and chips my husband had the chicken sandwich. A little pricey but definitely worth it. The green Chile in the chicken sandwich was delicious. The spicy spin on the coleslaw was very good definitely not your traditional coleslaw. The tabletop fire heater sets the mood for a date. We are very excited to go back again.
