What Guests Are Saying
As a local and frequent explorer of Barrie’s social scene, I found The Rec Room at Park Place to be a top-tier destination for entertainment. It successfully balances a high-energy gaming atmosphere with a sophisticated dining experience, making it much more than just an arcade. The Experience: The "Yard" is impressive over 80 games that bridge the gap between nostalgic classics and cutting-edge VR. Everything is well-maintained, and the tech-integrated wristband system makes transitioning between games and the bar seamless. The space is expansive, featuring high ceilings and a modern, industrial-chic aesthetic that feels professional yet fun. Pro-Tips for Visitors: • Timing: It’s a vibrant hub on weekends, so if you prefer a quieter meal, aim for a weekday afternoon. • Events: Keep an eye on their live music and trivia schedule; it adds a great layer to the evening. • Service: The staff is attentive and handles the high-volume crowds with impressive efficiency. A fantastic addition to Barrie for corporate events, family outings, or a night out.
We had such an incredible experience here! This is one of those rare places where you can easily spend an entire day together as a family without anyone getting bored. Between the arcade games, the delicious food, and the fun atmosphere, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The arcade had a fantastic variety of games for both kids and adults, and we loved being able to play together and make so many great memories. The restaurant was just as impressive—the food was fresh, delicious, and the service was friendly and welcoming. It's the perfect place for family outings, birthdays, or just a fun day together. We left with full stomachs, happy kid, and lots of laughs. We can't wait to come back again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun, family-friendly destination!
We had a nice time. We went for a birthday dinner so didn't go for the games. I enjoyed the meat lovers pizza and hubby liked his spicey chicken sandwich. Others at the table were mixed, with fish and chips a thumbs up, a noodle salad was a huge thumbs down and burgers and other sandwiches were ok. The other half of the party were too far away to hear how they enjoyed. The kiddos that came had a blast playing the games.
